Healthy Hair By The New Year Challenge! | 45-Day Natural Hair Challenge

Today marks 45 days until the new year and I thought, why not push myself to get my hair to its fullest potential just in time to show it off and begin 2019 on the right foot…or the right strand…? Haha but seriously, in the colder months I always tend to neglect my hair  for a few reasons. Either I’m too busy, too tired, or just plain too lazy to give my hair the proper care it loves. Considering I’m a bleached blonde now, I have to give my hair even more tender love and care! On top of that, the cold weather is the enemy of moisturized, healthy hair.

So here’s how I plan on maintain healthy hair (and hopefully gaining some length) for the rest of the year:

  • Deep condition every 2 weeks
  • Use a moisturizing leave-in conditioner at least once a week
  • seal styles with an oil and cream each week
  • low manipulation styles
  • protective styling with wigs
  • NO heat
  • keep hands out of hair

I feel these steps will not only get and keep my hair in good health but allow me to maintain length. I’ll provide some photos for reference of what type of shape my hair is in at the moment. I plan to do a length check tomorrow and style my hair for the week so I’ll update this post then.

For this challenge I want to check in every week to 2 weeks and update on my progress. Cheers to a successful journey!
