As a melaninated person who’s been wearing sunscreen daily for half a decade, it’s been a rough journey! I can count on only one hand the about of sunscreen products that actually works for my skin and skin tone. I spoke about one of those holy grail sunscreens in a previous post here.
I’m back to speak on a new sunscreen that won me over at first squeeze; Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen!
When Supergoop recently announced their new Unseen line of goodies, I was most interested in their facial sunscreen-primer hybrid. I ultimately picked up the Unseen Sunscreen at Sephora after seeing a demo and review on a fellow Black girl in beauty. I was amazed at how easily the product blended out into her skin AND DIDN’T LEAVE A WHITE CASTE! Glory!

Details
- 1 oz.
- $34.00 USD
- Available at Supergoop and Sephora
PROS
- Lightweight
- Scentless
- No white residue
- Blue Light Protection
Unlike traditional spf products, the Unseen Sunscreen is not a thick, smelly cream that sits on top of your skin. It works easily as the last step in my skincare routine. It absorbs into an invisible shield that works to protect against sun damage and the blue-light from computers and cellphones. There is none of that all-too-familiar spf smell.

Supergoop also boasts the claim that the Unseen Sunscreen works as a “makeup-gripping primer.” Personally, this has not been my experience with the product. I’ll note that I am generally a sweaty person and I’m someone who gets oily throughout the day.
This product to me only works as a lightweight smoothing primer and hasn’t shown to me to be very long-lasting on it’s own. When first applied, the primer without a doubt gives a poreless, smooth, and blurred finish which I LOVE! I just wish that outcome lasted longer.
I’m still working on making this primer aspect work for me and I’ll update y’all!

tldr; Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for an invisible sunscreen with a high spf and light enough to wear alone or under makeup; the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is the way to go!
