Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows how much I fangirl Rihanna and absolutely love her make-up line, Fenty Beauty! So, when Fenty Beauty announced their first ever pop-up shop in New York, I was almost obligated to attend. I really had no excuse not to especially since it was so close by and not somewhere impossible like, Los Angeles like these types of events tend to be in. Anyway, Fenty Beauty’s pop-up shop, dubbed the “Moroccan Spice Market” was held as a preview for their new Summer/Fall collection launching next Friday on July 6. Attendees had early access to test and purchase items from The Moroccan Spice Collection which features the Moroccan Spice eyeshadow palette, eyeliner (known as ‘flyliner’), eyeshadow primer, and 2 eyeshadow brushes.
The Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Market was held for 3 days, Wednesday, June 27 – Friday, June 29 at 3 different locations in New York. I attended the Friday pop-up at the Seaport Pier.
I went with my best friend and man, it was eventful. We had so many plans and expectations for our day in NY that quickly had to be altered because of THE HEAT WAVE! Yes, it was over 90 degrees and a cray cray high UV index. Before we even made it to NY my bff had already sweated off her make-up. Needless-to-say we were literally melting by the time we stepped in front of the glory that was the Fenty Beauty pop-up shop. My make-up too was completely gone in my T-zone and beading up and crumbling off everywhere else. Not cute at all haha. But are photos still came out cute tho 🙂 And we cooled off later with some ice-cream and frozen drinks!
So now, about the event, it was fun and cool! I’m really big on vibes and moods whenever I enter a place and I feel that the vibe Fenty Beauty was trying to accomplish was…accomplished. The Moroccan, desert, middle eastern, mediterranian, boho feel was felt in every part of the set-up. I loved it. The workers were very cheery and helpful even in the blazing heat. The crowd surprisingly was not huge at all and made exploring and testing the new and old Fenty Beauty products easy. They even had 8 make-up artists out there to freshen you up or give you a full-on makeup look or makeover! Unfortunately, my friend and I were just too hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable to get our make-up re-done! Tragic.
Ultimately, we had a good time and enjoyed seeing the new products before the launch next week! Our only big gripe was that the event was OUTSIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEAT-WAVE!!!!!!
