I swear, I won’t buy eyeshadow for the rest of 2018! Maybe…
OK, let me explain. So one day I was scrolling through my Instagram explore page like I usually do and I came across the ShopHush Instagram page. SIS, I was shook! As proof of how immediately obsessed I became, I made a purchase THAT night!
So here’s the rundown, Hush inc. is a beauty marketplace similar to Ulta or Sephora. They sell make-up, beauty tools, hair products, and skin care products. From my experience and what I’ve seen, a good majority of the products available are so affordable! The site does carry a handful of high-end brands such as Tarte and The Balm. You can shop online at shophush.com or through the Hush app. Note, if you are international, you can only shop on the website.
I made 3 different purchases. I bought 7 eyeshadow palettes and each cost $9-$16. Only 6 are pictured because one of the palettes arrived broken. Fortunately, customer service finally got back to me today and the shipped a replaced!
WILD eyeshadow palette
$16
First up, the WILD palette by Face Candy. I saw a swatch video of the new release and was shook by the pigmentation and the variety of colors! I got this just to add to my arsenal of…wild colors (mind the pun). It may not be a go-to for my everyday looks but it was too cheap to pass up. And you never know, I may be feeling…wild one day and want to whip this bad boy out! Ok, ok, ok no more using the word, “wild.”
INFERNO eyeshadow palette
$12
Next is the INFERNO palette by Bad Habit and listen, this is my favorite palette OF ALL TIME. I’m not even exaggerating! Each shade individually is my cup-of-tea so to get them in one palette, and not across 3 different ones, was a dream come true. I don’t have much left to say about this other than, I LOVE it.
RETRO LOVE eyeshadow palette
$12
The RETRO LOVE palette by Bad Habit is known on the street as the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) Subculture palette dupe. I haven’t tested this out yet but it’s another one I couldn’t pass up. I never purchased the ABH Subculture palette mostly because of the bad reviews it received from the beauty community. But, I was still feeling the color range in the palette. Based on the sample palette I’ve seen in Sephora, a few of the RETRO LOVE shadows (the yellows and blues/greens) are a bit off so I wouldn’t say it’s a complete dupe to Subculture. Either way, I’m excited to try it out!
AURA eyeshadow palette
$12
Another ABH dupe is the AURA palette by Bad Habit. AURA is a dupe for the ABH Prism palette and I agree! I have the Prism palette so I may be gifting the AURA palette because the shades are such a good match. It’s almost unbelievable how accurate it looks to me. The pan sizes are a bit larger on the AURA palette. Below you can see some side-by-side shots I took of both of the palettes.

ATHENA eyeshadow palette
$12
Yet another dupe! And yet another Bad Habit palette! ATHENA is said to be a dupe for the Huda Beauty Desert Husk palette. Going off of what I’ve seen online, I can agree with those claims! I’ve used the palette once already and it’s one of my top 3 favorites. Of course I love the warm shades but the duochrome shades and warm purple shades sucked me in!
IRRESISTIBLE eyeshadow palette
$9
Last and least, the IRRESISTIBLE palette by Beauty Creations. This may be my least favorite of the bunch but it has potential. There’s nothing wrong with the palette per se but it’s more of a personal preference issue. I would have loved for the shades to be deeper/richer but I see myself possibly using certain shades as a base for future looks. If that doesn’t work out, I may have to gift this one.
Whew! I made it through! I hope this post is helpful to someone! Also, be sure to check out the video I did on these new beauty buys.
